Auction Raises Neighbors’ Fear Of Cell Tower

Several Lake Forest residents are canvassing the City’s southeastern neighborhoods this week to raise awareness about a cell phone tower that City leaders are considering for the northeast corner of Westleigh Road and Western Avenue. The group is concerned the upcoming auction of Barat Woods will push Plan Commissioners and City Council members to make a decision about revising Lake Forest’s wireless overlay district so that a tower of 160 to 190 feet can be built on City-owned property rather than at the Barat campus nearby.
